Day 2

Subject: Are your IM efforts in the doldrums, [firstname]?

Hi [firstname],

It doesn't matter how long you've been an Internet marketer, sooner or later your sales are going to reach a “plateau”. This is where sales growth starts to decline, customers seem harder to retain, and you appear to be putting in more effort to achieve results that used to come easily.

We've all been there!

When this happens, many people conclude that they'll just have to work harder. While this is understandable, it is the wrong approach. Instead, you need to think about ways of working SMARTER and leveraging what you're doing to achieve a better result.

Start by taking an inventory of what you're currently doing. What works? What doesn't? What used to work but doesn't work anymore?

If it works: Keep at it, and do more of it. The 80:20 rule states that 80% of your results will come from the most productive 20% of your efforts. Identify that 20% and you're well on your way to achieving stunning results.

If it doesn't work: Don't waste time and effort trying to make it work. While you need to try out new ideas, usually if something is going to succeed it will show positive signs right away. If it doesn't, try tweaking it a little. If that doesn't work, move on to something else. Your time is too precious to waste on a “no hoper”.

If something used to work but doesn't work anymore: Examine it in detail. Oftentimes just a tweak or two can make all the difference. For example: It could be that your ad copy has gotten “tired” because potential customers have read it many times and it's just not sinking in anymore. When that happens, sometimes just changing the headline can get your ad noticed again.

The key to all this is to keep track of all your efforts so you can ensure you're getting the best ROI.

Warmly,

[Your Name]

PS. Collecting data about how your customers use your website can help tremendously with this process. I explain how to do it in my Internet Marketers' Handbook. Read all about it here [link to sales page].
